"The King Has Come" Original Art
The King Has Come
8" x 10"
Soft Pastel on Sanded Paper
This painting is the view from the bottom of the Mount of Olives looking across the Kidron Valley at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. It's a view that would've been very familiar to Jesus.
During Jesus' time, the Mount of Olives was where people from Galilee would camp when they came to Jerusalem for the feasts. From that mount, you have a beautiful view of the city walls, gates, and temple.
It's the view His parents had when they brought Him to be presented in the Temple.
It's the view He would've had as a child, playing in the camps and climbing the olive trees to get a better glimpse at His Father's house.
It's the view He would've had when he taught the disciples how to pray the Our Father.
It's the view He would've had as he sat on the back of a donkey as people placed palms beneath Him.
It's the view He would've had as He prayed in agony after the Last Supper.
It's the view He would've had as Judas betrayed Him with a kiss.
It's the view He would've had when He ascended into Heaven.
It's the view that the King had when He entered His Kingdom.
